World Allergy Organization (WAO)

The World Allergy Organization (WAO) is an international umbrella organization whose members consist of 74 regional and national allergy and clinical immunology societies. By collaborating with member societies, WAO provides direct educational outreach programs, symposia and lectureships to WAO individual members around the globe.

WAO's mission is to be a global resource and advocate in the field of allergy,advancing excellence in clinical care, education, research and training through a worldwide alliance of allergy and clinical immunology societies.

Global Resources In Allergy (GLORIA) is the flagship program of the World Allergy Organization (WAO). The content, which is developed by panels of world experts, promotes good practice in the management of allergic diseases. The modules are created from established guidelines and recommendations to address different aspects of allergy-related patient care.

GLORIA is presented at national allergy society meetings throughout the world and also at regional, state and local society meetings within the United States.

World Allergy Forum

The World Allergy Forum (WAF) is the longest running educational program series sponsored by the World Allergy Organization (WAO) and is held at major international allergy meetings. Each symposium is developed by an international expert advisory panel to provide up-to-theminute presentations on scientific and clinical developments in the field of allergic disease.

Seminars & Conferences Program

The Seminars & Conferences program invites member societies to apply to host a WAO Invited Lecturer. Complementing WAO's existing programs, Seminars & Conferences gives member societies the opportunity to nominate an international speaker or panel of speakers for a plenary session presentation, on a clinical or scientific topic of the society's choice.

Emerging Societies Program

In collaboration with the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI) and other regional allergy societies, the Emerging Societies Program aims to expand and improve the specialty of allergy by supporting colleagues in developing countries that are working in the field of allergy. Through sharing practical experiences and alerting new societies to the criteria required for WAO membership, the program creates relationships with future World Allergy Organization (WAO) member societies, and educates WAO's leadership about the challenges and opportunities faced by colleagues around the world.

WAO Journals

ACI-International - Journal of the World Allergy Organization (ACII - JWAO) and the International Archives of Allergy and Immunology provide the latest research and news in allergy, immunology and asthma.

WAO Web Site (www.worldallergy.org)

The WAO web site fills a unique niche as the global information network on allergy,featuring information about WAO’s educational programs, WAO’s two journals,educational materials and worldwide allergy meetings. The Allergic Diseases Resource Center provides up-to-date synopses that have been written to provide an overview of the main allergic diseases.
